What is possible in the Netherlands has always fascinated me. They are open to the world, who speak of themselves as Dutch. They are direct and straightforward. The Netherlands-a water country, for this reason alone, a focal point of my work.
Pieperrace in Volendam
The Pieperrace is one of the most beautiful regattas for traditional boats in the Netherlands-a sailing spectacle with many spectators. In 2017, I sailed on one of the ships.
In Yacht and Sailing Magazine I have published for years what is worth knowing for sailors in the Netherlands. Information, travel reports and interesting facts about events. I speak fluently Dutch and translate books in the maritime field. For example: Laura Dekker “A Girl, One Dream,” Delius Klasing Verlag or Fred Imhoff, “Winning Regattas.”

Laura Dekker, "Ein Mädchen, ein Traum"
Laura Dekker was the youngest person to sail around the world. Even before she left for her circumnavigation of the world, I met her in the Netherlands as a 13-year-old and was the first to write a portrait about her. Again and again I met her, reported on her journey and later I translated her book from Dutch.

Fred Imhoff, "Regatten gewinnen"
Fred Imhoff himself is a professional regatta sailor and, with more than 40 national and international titles, one of the most successful dutch sailors of all time. Since I have translated his book, I know that sailing success is based not only on luck, but also on technique, tactics and trim, as well as proper preparation.
Where do you see horses in the great outdoors? In the Netherlands, there is-as living lawnmowers, so to speak.

For example, in the south of the country in the province of Zeeland. On smaller islands live semi-wild horses, which together with deer should keep the vegetation down.
